Anonymity
Financial UA, as a 12 Step Fellowship, prioritizes the safety, privacy, confidentiality and anonymity of the members. Our members need to feel safe in order to share their experience, their truth and their story in a vulnerable, transparent and authentic way. Our members need to feel that their privacy is respected so that they can be their authentic self in the meeting without having a concern as to whether other members will intrude into each other's lives outside the meetings. Our members need to feel that what they disclose in the meeting, with their Sponsor or with each other is held in the strictest confidence and that no compromising information is taken outside this bond of trust. Our members need to feel that every member is anonymous--that we do not recognize status, titles, professions, affiliations, age, gender or other forms of categorizing people. Every member is an equal in the fellowship, we are all interchangeable, there are no VIP's, nobody better or worse. The only difference between us is our level of experience. We all have an equal opportunity to recover and the fellowship offers a level playing field where nobody has special advantages. Recovery is based on honest effort, there is no cheating the process...no process-skipping allowed. We also recognize that nobody in the fellowship has any special power to fix or rescue anyone else. It is a loving Higher Power that works through the fellowship to heal the members, it is the Earning Power that restores each of us to prosperity. We place Spiritual Principles ahead of the individual personalities in the Fellowship. We recognize Tradition Two:
2. For our group purpose there is one ultimate authority--a loving Earning Power as it may express itself in our group conscience. Our leaders are but trusted servants; they do not govern.
and Tradition Twelve:
12. Anonymity is the spiritual foundation of all our Traditions, ever reminding us to place principles before personalities.
