Hi Everyone! Great meeting last night! Today I'm doing the instructions from the Introduction and Step 0 on the 12 Steps page. I am creating a notebook, printing up the tools and other pages, and getting to know the literature. I am going to be reflecting on the Symptoms and how they show up in my life. Looking for clarity! Thank you all for creating a space for recovery from financial underearning!

Hi Everyone! Yesterday I learned about "Interviewing" from a member of FUA who has been through the process and knew how to do it. In previous 12 step programs I was told to make "Outreach Calls" but I really wasn't clear about what I was supposed to do or what the purpose was. I now have the tool of Interviewing which allows me to call other members of FUA (or other programs) who have more experience around a process or issue than I do and ask for their Experience, Strength and Hope. I learned that I am not "asking for advise", which will give away my power and put the responsibility of "fixing" my problem onto another person. Instead, I learned that if I start the conversation with the Serenity Prayer, then I invoke a Higher Power to infuse the conversation with grace, and take my personal agenda out of it. It helps me be open, honest, and willing to receive whatever may come from the conversation.

I have set a goal of prosperous retirement before 65. I also want to tour South America and other places. I am exploring ESOL as a career option that has lots of flexibility and could fill the remaining gap in what I have identified as my prosperity requirements to meet the 3 goals of all needs, some wants, and a prudent reserve of savings. It's hard going to classes though, so I need to keep my focus on the goal, not agonize over the process

Hi Everyone, it's me again! I wanted to share some things I have been doing as I get clarity with my income. I have all my tax returns since 1989. I made an excel spread sheet that lists the income, taxes, and tax returns I made for every year. I could see how much I have made in my life-time now and how much I have paid in taxes. This of course does not include many of the income categories on the income tracking sheet for this program, like gifts, retirement, or other streams, but it does give me a starting place.
