VISION BOARDS
Using the tool of a Vision Board was first developed and suggested by Shakti Gawain in her 1978 book "Creative Visualization". These were also called "Dream Maps", "Alchemy Maps" or "Transformation Collage". The Vision Board can be constructed in many ways. A common way is to use one large sheet of poster paper, several magazines with glossy photos, glue, scissors and magic markers. The process of making the Vision Board is to look through magazines for images that resonate with you--things you would like to have in your life or images that symbolize something positive for you. Using the scissors, cut out the images you like and glue them to the poster paper in any arrangement that appeals to you. You can additionally decorate the Vision Board with magic markers or pens or with any other type of decoration that appeals to you. As you complete the Board it will begin to tell a story about what your Vision looks like. It's often easier to let our heart, soul / spirit and imagination speak to us through images than through other forms of logical communication (like journaling).
